There are a numerous number of of factors that play a role in the poor life span of your Android phone's battery. some of these factors include thinner bodies, high screen brightness, faster processors, more background software , and  high debit internet connections. But to remedy these, manufacturers also think of incorporating more powerful batteries to compensate. 

1. Turn On Power Saving Mode 

If you are a little far from a power supply and you think you are going to be help up in a situation where you need your phone's battery to last longer than it normally does, then you will you will have to switch on your power saver mode and this will automatically cut off background apps and functions that may quickly and uneccesarily consume the phone's battery life. 

Most Android phones offer the user with more than one power saving mode option but a samsung phone that runs on Android 10 will have 4 different options. 

Among the options, you will see high performance that uses more battery by increasing the screen brightness and resolution and also helps maintain a balance between the phone;s performance and its battery life. 

You have Medium Power saving mode that will permit you to extend the lifespan of your battery by limiting data usage, decreasing the screen brightness, resolution and also CPU performances.

Browsing over a network data is strenous on your device battery so it is usually advisable that you use WI-FI as often as you can use  it. If you have your WI-FI device always at your disposal, you can turn off mobile data services from the quick settings panel on your phone. 

You can still go further to increase the lifespan of your battery by turning on the Airplane mode in order to disable all data networks features and then you now switch on your wi-fi but doing this will interrupt your incoming calls and SMS texting. 

3. Try to Use your Phone in Dark Mode 

Using your phone in dark mode will nit only help you increase the lifespan of  your battery, but it is also nice for the wellbeing of the eyes. But turning on dark mode does not really affect your battery except you have an OLED or AMOLED display. If you have a phone with an OLED or AMOLED display, this means that the phone actually turns offthe pixels that are in charge of displaying black, so you can save up as much as 1 hour by just switching on the dark mode.

4. Give the Active Tracking a rest 

Some features like Bluetooth, hotspot, Samsung's phone visibility and location services are quite helpful but they also drain your battery as your phones tries to connect and update. If you are looking forward to get the best performance of your battery, then you will have to turn them off in order to gain more time but you can subsequently turn them on when you need them. You can also Disable any routines that you have Enabled to stop your phone from automatically performing tasks that use up power. 

5. Monitor your screen Brightness 

Android phones look great nowadays especially when the screen is brighter but the more the screen is bright, the more it consumes your phone's battery. Surely you do not need that your device's brightness should be turn up to the highest level before you can actually see so you can just move into display settings and turn down the brightness on the screen. 

Even though auto brightness adjust your screen brightness according to the light intensity perceived, at a certain moment it can turn the brightness higher than needed thereby uselessly eating up your phone's battery. So even the Auto brightness should not be seen as an option, therefore should also be disabled.

A phone that is constantly vibrating, ringing and beeping with numerous notifications is annoying and also drains down the battery more easily than a silent phone. You can also Disable haptic feedback so that it does not vibrate when you type or touch the screen.

Android Apps developers put in a lot of work into making sure that their apps run as efficiently as possible but even though the numerous efforts, some apps will still continue to run in the back ground even when though you are no longer using the app again. And surely this will drain down your battery life over time and you can use the App Power management option to put unused apps to sleep so that your battery stays save from background apps drainage. 

8. Avoid Live Wallpapers and Widgets 

If you want to increase the lifespan of your battery, then you will have to avoid moving or life wallpapers because it takes energy for your display to animate it. While on the other hand widgets are tempting and somehow convenient, they are essentially an active program that is usable right from the beginning of your home screen, so the phone is forced to use up energy in order to keep these features moving so its better to stay away from widgets if you wish to increase the life span of your battery.
